NEW FLIGHT SERVICE FEATURES NOW ONLINE
New services for pilots are now available online from Lockheed Martin Flight Services, the company said this week. Pilots can register online for access to the Automated Flight Service Station Pilot Web Portal and a new Adverse Condition Alerting Service. The pilot portal allows pilots to access the same briefing information and weather graphics available to Lockheed's flight-service specialists. The alerting service will send notices to pilots about new adverse conditions specific to their filed flight plans via text, email, and Iridium satellite devices. The short alert messages identify the type of adverse condition (such as TFRs, NOTAMs, AIRMETs and SIGMETs) and the flight plan to which it applies. Pilots then can contact LMFS for details. More...
