NZCAA Instrument Renewal
Hey Guys. Anyone know if the NZCAA MEIR can be renewed on a simulator in NZ? I know the training is often sim based, but not the flight test in my previous issues.
I have always renewed on various piston twins. The rest of the crew in my Company (various nationalities) perform their renewal on an approved sim in their license issuing country.
I'd prefer to log the piston time, and it's much more fun... But they're so damn expensive!
I understand CASA will even accept a renewal on an approved Sim in various other recognised states.
Any ideas? Ta.

It depends on the simulator. Different sims are approved for different purposes. That said, I think that the only simulators approved for zero flight time renewals belong to Air NZ. Ring and ask the larger flying schools for up to date information.
