Public and Passenger Liability Insurance

Folks,

Was chatting to a mate the other day about who is considering starting his own GA business. The question came up about public and passenger liability insurance.

Anyone know, who are some of the best companies to obtain insurance through and roughly how much would he be up for, for an 8 pax aircraft?

You don't say where you are Rocket.

If in WA, or Qld, I would suggest 'Marsh' Insurance , or any other reputable brokers to advise you of the requirements / recommendations for your intended operation.

I have no real 'connection', other than we use them for our very small business for both our 'vintage' aircraft, and they seem to be ok.

For training aircraft excluding ab-initio work with 2M combined public liability and passnger on a figure of about 5% of hull value, with excess of about 1.25%.

Training + freight-only charter is around 5.75% of hull value.

Also carefully consider the structure of the company (or companies) to minimise liability issues through negligence (deliberate or otherwise).

Without givig too much away, he will be operating in QLD running a simple scenic operation. No training or running of freight.

Griffo- Thanks for the lead mate, will forward it on.

I agree with GRIFFO.

Your friend needs to use a specialist aviation insurance broker. Google Aviation Insurance Broker and that should give him a couple of choices.
