QF B737 to Miami

Anyone have any info on QF6027 B734 VH-TJH scheduled to Miami Tuesday 18th September? Is it a charter or sold to another operator?

Being one of the 'TJ' series 737-400s it's more than likely a disposal. The 13 remaining 400s are being progressively withdrawn from service. Whether it's been sold or is just being returned to the lessor, I don't know.

Thanks, I thought may be the case. Just seemed unusual for it to go to Miami, most disposals seem to go to Victorville, CA.

Just sourced this bit of info, looks like some freighter conversions are done in Miami so it may come back as an Express Freighter?

Intel has it that this is a new, dedicated service for QF.
The 737's will be fitted with long range tanks to operate SYD-LAX-MIA.
Amongst many synergies the new service creates, QF management will now be able, to commute between 3 Fantasylands.

More to it

No it will go through Apia via Norfolk Island and will be fitted with floats. The supporting job ad will read" Previous applicants with twin-jet water landing experience may re-apply"

Just curious, could/would this be crewed by a JetConnect crew to save a few bucks, or do QF crews still get good little jobs like this as a reward?
