Airbox Runway HD

Hi Guys,

Looking at Nav Apps for iPad, having a look at Runway HD from Airbox, anyone used this?

I gave it a go.

- No ERSA or DAPs
- Doesn't even acknowledge the existence of many airfields visible on the map
- Doesn't know any waypoints
- Draws airspace arcs as polygons (sounds geeky but that's the best description I could think of)
- Maps incredibly slow to load / pan / zoom
- Low quality VTC. (Did they scan it?)

Enough said?

I tested a unit from Airbox for my employer not too long ago.

I was not impressed.....as vh-xxx said no ersa or dap, and very amateurish airspace boundaries. The boundaries have been drawn as many straight lines instead of arcs.

In short...not impressed, don't waste your money.

While testing it on an ipad 2 I've found that the maps load and zoom quite freely & this the latest version from the app store, what nav aids are you guys using then?

Dude nobody is cool with astroturfing, and this one has backfired.

People respond better if you say who you are and be open/honest than create an account with zero posts & start asking fictitious questions about your product.

Had an Airbox and gave it away, WOFTAM. iPad with Ozrunways is great. Don't know if that helps for you in NZ.
