TWO men aboard a light plane forced to make an emergency landing near Gawler have escaped serious injury.

The pilot was forced to land the plane in a paddock east of the Sturt Highway, about 7km north of Gawler, about 3.30pm.

An SA Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the men, one believed to be aged in his 50s and the other in his 60s, suffered minor injuries.

She said neither of the men were likely to be taken to hospital.
