Someone has to be the voice of reason but not sure that JH not just doing what he can to stay in business. Yes a lot of young pilots owe the start of their careers to his company but have heard that he gets his pound of flesh from these guys and gals as they go back and forth to one of the most unsavory communites in the NT. Also some of the passengers he delivers to Darwin to be a nuisance to the various Bottle Shops around town and making Rapid Creek their home for a few weeks? He has made it in the longevity stakes when the Stephans, Honis, Ray from Wimray, Dave Goodwards are but a memory and some still hiding from their creditors! Dont have first hand experience of JH's techniques for running a successful GA company but maybe others do?

Whoa, Stilted - just because the Hardy boys fly to aboriginal communities, and some aboriginies get drunk in Darwin, is hardly reason to take any credit away from John Hardy's OAM.

Congratulations John, this is a well-deserved honour. A great many pilots have worked for him over the years, put in a great amount of quite literally blood, sweat and tears, and gone on to fulful their dreams in aviation, wherever that may be.
It is not easy to run an aviation business in this country, and Hardy's is certainly someone to be looked upon with admiration. Who else here has achieved what he has?

Thanks John, for the determination and effort, without which so many pilots would not have gone as far as we have.
