New Regional Airline (SYD, MEL and BNE)

From the AFAP Jobs page.

J31/32* Flight Crews*
*
A new consumer airline is actively expanding into the Australian regular public transport (RPT) and charter operations. With a fleet of Jetstream series aircraft (31/32) type aircraft our bases include Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
*
We are currently seeking J31/32 flight crew for positions within the next few months.
*
Captains:

Australian Airline Transport License
J31/32* command rating or similar type.
Current Australian Command Instrument Rating (1 renewals)
Minimum of 3000 hours Total Aeronautical Experience
Minimum of 1000 hours as Pilot in Command
Valid Australian Class 1 Medical**
First Officers:

Australian Airline Transport or Commercial Licence
Minimum of 1000 hours Total Aeronautical Experience
Minimum of 100 hours Multi Engine Experience
Current Australian Command Instrument Rating (2 renewals)
Valid Australian Class 1 Medical.
Please submit your application of Interest via [email protected]

Anyone know who they are? And why only 1 renewal for Capts when FO's require 2?

A new consumer airline
What is a consumer airline? Or put another way, what is a non-consumer airline?

The gmail is a turn off!
So they cannot afford a recruitment company and they are not organised enough yet to buy a domain name. That takes at least $50 and 20 minutes to arrange.

Best of luck.

Seems to be almost a carbon copy of the Skytrans ad further down the AFAP page. Looks dodgy...

I think looking at there requirements we can all get a sense, but I did see a J31 in san diego a week ago with a star on the tail that had recently been painted if it's any relation..

So 19 seat aircraft are going to take on 35 seat aircraft over routes that are already serviced by established airlines................mmmmmm............sounds like a recipe for financial disaster.

I would like to fly from Bankstown, Moorabbin and Archerfield. They are nearer the places I need to go to. A J31/32 service whilst slower in the air, would definitely save me total travel time (point to point).

I would support this without question.

I also wouldn't have to put up with rotten airports such as MEL and SYD, outrageous parking expenses (whereas I think it's free at the GA airports), long lines at security checkpoints and ATC delays.

Overall if this is what is being planned, it's a sound concept that is long overdue.

@falconx - It sounds like, with the exception of Brisbane, they would be competing against Rex flying the Saab 340 with around 35 seats. The Jetstream is a smaller, less comfortable aircraft that I believe dont have either toilets or flight attendants for cabin service. (Do the Aeropelican Jetstreams have toilets? Their website didnt mention them and I hear they are an option with certain fitouts of the aircraft).

Yes, the Pelican J's have dunnies. No Hostie. Didn't the Impulse FOs play Hostie on the 1900s?

The GMail account is (obviously? surely.) a strategy to help keep some secrecy about who they actually are. And why would you use a recruitment agency for pilot recruitment? Every effort I have seen along those lines has ended in disaster. Non-specialist reecruitment agencies aren't able to sort out bull**** resumes like an experienced pilot can, and recruitment agencies always seem to put the bull****ters up and bin the good guys (who might not look as good on paper).

Interesting times. Whoever they are, they would (surely?) have maintenance sorted out and an AOC application in, so "somebody" knows "something".

...Surely.

I always use Gmail or Hotmail temporary emails for recruitment. Otherwise the 2,000 plus unqualified applicants also insist on ringing you up to "check on the progress of their job application."

Conspiracy theory: It's an existing operator trying to find out which of his faithful pilots are ready to jump ship. The J31/32 bit could be a smokescreen, though if that's the case they coulda used something a bit more attractive.

Mach,
LMAO.
Excellent,......that really is paranoid but as I always say, "Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean people aren't really out to get me".
