light aircraft pilots licence

there was an e-mail sent to me regarding the possible exemptions from the requirements for a class 2 medical for aircraft under 1500 kg. Does anyone know what is going on.

Initially if you have a casa ppl or higher you will be able to have an exemption from the class 2 medical by having a Dr issue a Australian Standards certificate for health to drive a car.

This will allow you to exercise the privileges of a PPL with restrictions to Day VFR, OCTA, 2 POB, max 1500kg.

The new license level will be some time yet.

CASA will eventually put it on their web site when it is ready to roll. And it's not far away, some time very soon I expect
