Reno Crash

I've been sitting on the net for the last few hours watching this unfold, an absolute tragedy. It appears a P51 "Galloping Ghost" lost part of its tail and lost control rolling over and going vertically into the crowd at something like 500 mph. So far they are saying 12 killed and 75 injured but from the personal reports and blogs I've read it is going to be much higher.

The site below has good coverage and very gut wrenching photos.

Condolences to all those who have unfortunately been affected by this tragic accident.

Condolences

Do you think those affected will be reading this?

It's such a throw away word, attached to the end of posts to justify what has just been written.

It's thoughtless and self serving!

How would you suggest such a post be ended capt fathom ?

Ernest K Gann once wrote something along the lines of "accident's there causes and what may have happened were often the meat in any conversation in the cockpit".

A post on a bulletin board specifically for conversation among pilots is simply a modern extension of an age old practise. As macabre as it may be, many of us are curious about such incidents, why else did you click on the post ?

My best friend and I were right where it came down this time last year. A friend we met last year was caught up shopping and was late so she was a very lucky lady.
