Aussies in action at the World Aerobatic Championships
For the first time in over a decade the Australian Aerobatic Club has fielded a Team for the World Aerobatic Championships. The competition is being held in Italy until September 11th.
The results of the first flight are up on 26th FAI WAC2011
And there is more info on Australian Aerobatic Club
Its the usual Aussie underdog story - no sponsorship, flying a borrowed plane etc etc.
But I'm sure the boys will do the best with what they have and do us proud!!

Fantastic to see some "downunder" representation at the WAC. Will be following with interest... seems odd for a kiwi to be saying it but....

With a good performance in the Free program the Aussie pilots are now moving up in the standings to 34th and 36th.
The comp continues this week with the 2 Unknown flights. A solid result in the first Unknown will be needed so as not to miss the cut before the second Unknown.
Could be a bit of a mid pack battle to try and beat the Springboks!!!
