ATPL Human Factors

Hi guys,

I have been through a few of higgins cyberexams and tripped on a few questions. I have googled these questions and have not been able to find a definate answer (I have looked up the notes too).

Can anybody please shed some light on these:

1) On a hot day, how many litres of water per day does the body lose? 2,5,8,12?

2) How long is alcohol in the blood detectable for? 8,14,18,30 hours?

3) At what altitude must the pilot be breathing 100% oxygen? 20k, 30k, 40k, 45k.

Hi multi

From Bob Taits CPL Human Factors book

1) on a normal day 1 litre, on a hot dry day up to 5 litres

2) alcohol is detectable in the blood for up to 14 hours (it can remain in the brain cells for up to 24 hours after heavy drinking)

3) from 33,700 to 40,000 100% oxygen is being inhaled so I guess the answer to that would be 40 (above 40 100% isnt enough)

Thanks for 1 and 2.

I did some extra reading last night, and came accross the 33 - 40k info last night so I guess 30k is the correct answer... above 40 100% oxy isn't enough.
