But he lost control on landing, hitting the runway and skidding across a paddock before crashing into a concrete mixing factory on the edge of the aerodrome.
Crikey - he should be set for life!

As sad as it was John lost his aircraft and how close he came to injury or death, I'm told the accident sequence was somewhat comical with the aircraft flying between two trees equal distance to the sides, taking out the wing at both ends leaving the pilot and pod shooting through the air and into the concrete plant like a ball from a novelty canon!

Despite all the cracks I have made about this incident, I am really happy the poor old chappie survived.
