Medical testing
Is it true that when you undergo a urine test etc for a class 1 medical they do not actually test that sample for drugs? Av doctor once joked that I could have been as 'high as a kite' and nobody would have noticed...surely this is not true?

Urinary ‘dipstick’ testing is required as part of the routine aeromedical examination to
screen for the presence of haematuria (blood or protein in the urine) therefore related to kidney function. (DAME Handbook, 2.7.3).Also the test is for the presence of Glycosuria (blood sugars).
