Has your employer suggested anywhere to try? Are they wanting to get it done in the state you're in, or are they willing to fly you anywhere to get it done?

I do work with QAS on occasion, however this aircraft is actually the local meat bombing jumpship, not one of Keith's line aircraft.

And I agree, it ain't the prettiest one around, but it does the job.

My veiw is it doesn't matter if you pay $900/hr or $1600/hr.
It's the same endorsement.

(And believe it or not, it's still maintained in the charter category!)

Cheers, Spuds.
ps, your cd with the manuals is on the way up.

PA31

A good deal on the PA 31 done at Country Capital Aviation in NSW, Tamworth ( I thnk its the right name ) Endorsment plus 10 hrs ICUS for $129 per hour to build up the experience on the left seat , not a bad deal for less than $3900 for the rating and 10 hrs on Type ....Spoke to the Chief Pilot called Phil and he seems to be a very helpful person.....

Can somebody let me know Once you get the PA31 are there any job offeres even if you have les than 500 TT ?

properly endorsed and competant

I can reccommend only 1 guy who will not just tick the boxes and send you on your way but will make you 'safe' to competantly fly the thing. He's only doing it part time. He's in Victoria if thats any help

call me on 0409799093 and I will pass on his details

Guys flying navajo's with 250 hours.........gees....I would hate to be paying their insurance premiums, My insurer requires 1000 hr minimum.

I guess it's a sign of the times, a few hundred hr pilots driving round PA31's & the likes. Once upon a time you would have needed a couple of 1000 hrs TT with lots of multi on smaller machines b4 anyone owner would let you near a PA31. Still you don't need to be a rocket scientist to drive one just a good skill level & good situational awareness as well as airmanship, the latter two sadly lacking a lot these days

It's just a piston twin. Not a space shuttle.

The space shuttle is probably easier.....if the computer isn't telling you what to do, the guy in Houston is...............

Having seen the results of putting 1000 hour guys on turbo pistons, it all comes falling apart when fatigue and complacency sets in. 3 engine failures in 6 months due to piss poor engine management; but hey, none of them struggled to push the levers forward.

Although good news I guess it sounds like there is plenty of work out there!
