I was passing thru PH the other day & saw two of the old OZJET 737's parked there on the eastern side of the Drome
looking rather sad with soft/flat tires, anyone know what's to become of them?
Just curious, might make good cubby houses

Flightstar Trading had them for sale awhile back, they sold one to Poly Tech Tafe WA which is now in Jandakot.
However, they no longer list them so I guess its anyone guess...
Why dont they sell them to AUS con scrap metal? The parking charges alone must be a bitch

A flyable 727 freighter can be had for $300k (albeit with a very expensive C-check just around the corner.)
A million bucks for a 737-200 that's sitting around neglected is probably a bit rich

I remember seeing them advertised for a couple of hundred grand.
That was some time ago and it would take a lot of money to get them airworthy to fly out of there.
Something tells me they will be leaving PH in bits.
This would be a pretty cool idea for them though.
I could see myself living in something like this in the foothills of Perth.

Nice picture. I wonder if the local council building inspectors have twigged the cockpit escape rope is too short for safety. Maybe a bungee chord would be better where people let go as the bungee reaches the bottom stroke. And then it bounces back to the next escapee waiting in the cockpit.
