According to PNG folklore it increases the 'seating' capacity significantly.

Maybe the original idea of the lie flat beds that are so sought after today on the A380!

Thanks VH-XXX. Much appreciated.
NNB, I don't have the info which 206 it is. Only that it is a Cessna flying to camps in Botswana.

Buying a C206 Cargo pod

Hi all,

Anyone knows from where a Cessna 206 Cargo pod can be bought with certification please?

I know about Aerocet but I would like to know of other sellers if possible, even second hand sellers. I am finding it very difficult to find one.

Thanks.

Those that operated in the Highlands of PNG in the early 10970s will be aware that a Cessna 185 pod carries at least one additional passenger (out of Minj).

And one I remember out of Daugo to POM late one Sunday afternoon in around 1965/6!!

My recollection is that 185's were quite a bit faster without the pod - maybe 5-8 kts.

Also, with the pods fitted - both types need,(?) the cowl flap actuating rods extended which creates drag. Seem to remember this mod being done in PNG - whether it was 'approved' or not is anyones' guess.

happy days,
