Work experience in Darwin

I've got PPL, a couple of hundred hours and all ATPL's complete along with Night Qualification and looking to get my CPL later this year. I may look to work up north in the next couple of years. I'm aware you need 1000hrs+ to be considered for work in Darwin but as we'll likely be on holiday in the region in July this year I thought I might show my face with a few of the operators. Is it likely that I might be able to help out in a non flying role for a day or two at any with a view to getting an idea of the operations? Any advice or contacts much appreciated.
