I want a refund for the last 5 mins of my life that you have wasted. I can't follow this post at all! What are you trying to ask exactly?

It could be anything Jaba.. the aircraft sat over the winter months. He is now saying the cowl latch broke about 10 minutes into the flight.

I am sure that will be that, I am sure the defect has not been recorded and he will probably try and fix the latch himself.

Perhaps next weekend, when he takes the next batch of his mates flying, we may discover more.

Are you guys having difficulty understanding how a cowl fastener could be mistaken as the engine crapping out ?

I didn't answer J56's question fully either. In that case I was nothing to do with the particular machine. I asked him to go back and speak to his club (instructors) .... they still flew it with the flat oleo.
