Salaries in Oz and New Zealand
I am both an Australian and New Zealand citizen and held an Australian CPL about 17 years ago. But presently fly under a JAR ATPL in Europe.
I have some 7000 hours of flying with 3500 hours on A320/A321/A330 and was wondering with this kind of hours what opportunities exist in Oz or NZ and also what kind of Salaries exist for pilots in Oz and NZ.
I really appreciate any advice or information.

From the NZ perspective,
You could apply for a job at Jetstar NZ, no DEC, so as a co-pilot, and cos you have a type rating, you start on about $65K + fark all allowances. However you may have a quick rise to command due to your hours on type.
You could apply to Pac Blue and/or Jet Connect but they operate B738's so you'll need to cover your type rating (PacBlue approx $AUD32K, JC 50% company subsidy $AUD15.5k) and most of your expenses for the 6 week TR course (PacBlue are covering flights & accom now I think) . Starting rates are approx: Pac Blue $85k and JC are $79.5k
AirNZ operate the A320, but you won't get direct entry to that fleet, all new hires start as International S/O's now, and it's prob 5+yrs seniority required to bid for the Bus.
Figures are approx and to the best of my knowledge only.

Be careful with the 737 course provider if you are looking towards Pac Blue. NZCAA will only accept ratings done with Boeing Training and Flight Services/ Alteon.
As far as cost is concerned, all their locations offer a course at circa USD$16,000, even Brisbane and Melbourne. Have to love that strong Aussie dollar right now.
