Bruce Jackson dies in Death Valley crash

RIP Bruce.

The best audio engineer in the world died on the 1st of Feb after his M20J crashed in Death Valley. Bruce started Jands, an audio and lighting company in Sydney in the 70s and soon went on to mix the live concerts for Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson 5 and many others.

An Aussie legend in the entertainment industry, a keen pilot (used to fly Elvis between gigs the story goes).

FAA gives no details as to the cause at this time.

There are some on these forums that will have known Bruce and many more that will have been at gigs he's mixed the sound on.

Very sad indeed. I used to work for what is now Jands before coming a pilot a few years ago; he was quite a legend.

Bruce Jackson RIP

I knew Bruce and briefly worked with him. He put me on the guest list and gave me a back stage pass to both Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac concerts. He had flown his Mooney out here to Texas. He will be sorely missed by many.
