Weather Radar - Time Lapse
There is a fascinating long term time lapse weather radar of the USA posted on youtube at:
YouTube - Time-lapse national weather radar 7 months
It demonstrates incredibly well the fluid flow of the atmosphere and you can see the daily heating effect of the sun markedly in summer and less in winter. In winter it seems to be tied to the major urban centres.
Wondering if anyone knows of anything similar that is available for Oz?
Could the techs at the BOM tie some of their short loops together and post similar for Australia covering the four seasons?
Would be great to see this last east coast rainfall event developing in time lapse over the past months.

Ramble on,
Here is a short clip of a small application I made when I was studying for the MET exam.
YouTube - Weather Lapse - Aus
I've only just uploaded the clip so it might not be ready to view just yet.
The app downloads the images from the BoM site and then plays them in a loop. Problem was that the BoM guys changed the name format for the pictures and I lost the source code, so I never got more than 3 or 4 days worth of images.
This little tool helped me quite a bit for my MET exam.
I might rewrite the app one day...
