What have we got to do to stop this crap

Another 5 cents per litre.

That is another $550 a year for the plane, another $300 or so for the cars, electricity probably another $500 and I have yet to start on work expenses going up nor food and all other living expenses.

They have killed off the ability to save more than $25k in super, right now when I can actually stash some away, kill off the 30% health care rebate

I can see my family being $30k pa worse off now. And I bet a lot f ALP voters will be too.

Did I mention I am not happy?

If you want private health insurance go for it but don’t ask me to pay my hard earned taxes to rebate you by 30%. Should I ask the people of this country to pay their taxes and give me 30% of my aircraft insurance? I think not!

Golow,

I really do feel like giving you a severe berrating over this, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt, because you are probably naive about such matters.

Let me explain. My wife and I pay $3552 for private health cover, so we get a $1056 discount of our taxes each year.

My wife and I pay around $7940 or more each year in Medicare Levy.

So, if you want it that way, I don't want the taxpayers paying my medical insurance at all, but I will be farkked if I am paying the $8K PA as well, nope I would be far better off if I had that money invested each year. The Dr's and hospitals could charge me full cop and I would be better off self insured.

So now take your small minded short term thinking and apply this across the country.

Golow, I generally do not mind paying higher taxes to live in this country, and to look after the pensioners etc, but it is small minded morons like you that I really hate subsidising. Wake up lad.

Here is some interesting reading.
In summary, the Report found that as a consequence of means-testing the 30% Rebate:
  • 1.6 million Australians will exit their private hospital cover (compared to Treasury estimates of only 25,000), with a further 4.3 million downgrading their level of cover;
  • Private health insurance premiums will rise 10 per cent above what would otherwise be expected, making private cover less affordable for all Australians; and
  • Pressure on the public hospital system will increase as more than 845,000 additional treatments will be required as people withdraw from their private cover at an estimated cost to government of $3.8 billion.
Impact of Means Testing the 30% Rebate | You Should Know

Now what has aircraft insurance got to do with this? When the government legislate compulsory aircraft insurance on ALL taxpayers...............nahhh just too stupid to continue, You need a few years to grow up a little before you can argue this debate.

Here is a comical but true fact of life for you.
Recently, while I was working in the flower beds in the front yard, my
neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their
dog.

During our friendly conversation, I asked their 12 year old daughter
what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be
Prime Minister some day.

Both of her parents – Socialist Labor- were standing there, so I
asked her, "If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing
you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed with pride!

"Wow! what a worthy goal!" I said. "But you don't have to wait until
you're Prime Minister to do that!" I told her.

"What do you mean?" she replied.

So I told her, "You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull
weeds, and trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50. Then you can go over
to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can
give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight
in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do
the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Liberal Party."

Much better to dump your Private Health Insurance and just go Public. This will allow golow to pay his hard earned taxes to rebate you by 100%.That's got to be a lot better than his current miserable 30% contribution.

Yep.....should have done that with schooling as well, I could have saved $300K plus by now (maybe more) and loaded up the public schools just that little bit more.

Again I pay a butt load in taxes and I can assure Golow that my school fees were NOT supported equally per student. I pay more in taxes and get less in government support for education. OK so I pay a bit more, the price of success, but getting less equitable support in schools. That is wrong.

I don't mind paying my fair share and paying a bit extra even, so long as I see value for my taxes, which I do not. But being short changed at the same time really pi$$es me off!

It is?

Then why did I pay $2.30/L at YHBA on 14 April?

Well. The politics of envy are alive and well, but they don't belong here. Go to Jet Blast.

Forkie, the local account holders enjoy a small discount, but I think YMHB is a fair bit cheaper, and I reckon that is where he is quoting from.

Golow apologies for the moron bit, but small minded is not a "name" so that still applies. If you come out with more rubbish like the taxpayers paying your aircraft insurance I will probably have trouble holding back though.

Now what on earth is wealthy welfare? If it is welfare that makes me wealthy, I want in

Glad to see you have worked for every cent.....as I have had to as well. No handouts in my life, none. I should thank you for the job offer, very nice of you, but I have worked my arse off all my life, and for the moment enjoy running the business I own. But I never say no to looking at any opportunity, so what is it you have on offer?

Yep

So what.

Back to fuel....and price rises due to carbon tax, One Queensland employer of mainly ex Labor voters (refer last Qld election) is already faced with paying $36,000,000 EXTRA for fuel alone. That is not fuel spend, that is extra.

Now how many jobs is that worth?

And that is a drop in the ocean, about 1/30th of the cost to this business alone.

So do the numbers, say 360 times 30

Now it may not mean that many jobs, but it will cost the equivelant of that many jobs, so how is that a good idea, especially if you are a labor voter.

Jaba I agree with you on this...now for the record Jaba is Liberal and I am Labor, who f#cking cares, you could be Hispanic, caucasion, German or queer - It all the same - We are being ripped off blind!
But hey (remember I am Labor) The Carbon Queen will kick the ACCC in their spotted white ass and get them to investigate 'price collusion/fuel gouging' (or in layman terms 'f#cking the public in the a#s with a fuel hose'). But she or the white whale Albo won't look at GA/small operators bleeding to death at the hands of these capitalist pig fuel conglomerates??

You added fuel to my fire Jabba, that can be dangerous!

The politics of envy are alive and well, but...

Bit of trivia...

Reference annual income, how much do you need to earn to be among the top 1% of the world?

$34,000

...To be included in the top 0.1% requires an annual income of $70,000
