AUS ATPL Air Law prac exam answers (discussion)
Hey,
In response to the recent link - ATPL Air Law Practice Qs - Theory - OzAv
I thought it would be a good idea to discuss the answers on here. I recently did the ATPL air law exam, and noticed that almost all of the questions on this practice exam were word-for-word on the real exam. Here are the answers I believe to be correct, but please provide input if you believe my answers to be incorrect (answers written in the same order to the questions on the practice exam):
1) 400nm CAO 20.11 5.2.1.1 (for extended range ops)
2) I have absolutely no idea the question doesnt seem to make sense. According to CAO 48.1 3.9, the pilot requires 24 hours rest before commencing a tour of duty, yet this pilot only has 15 hours rest.
3) Yes, as authorised by the aircrafts approved systems of maintenance CAR 42zc 3 (c )
4) No further requirement CAO 4.1.5 11.5 (a) --- Copilot
5) Instrument must either be removed or placarded as U/S CAO 20.18 10.2
6) One hour instrument flight time including one ILS CAO 40.1.5 11.3 (b) and CAO 40.2.1 11.4
7) One remote indicating compass and one gyroscopic HDG indication CAO 20.18 AP II 5 for the first answer to be correct, the remote indicating compass would have to have a duplicated power supply
8) Not a clue, whatsoever
9) Only if the second control seat is occupied by a second crew member holding at least CPL with endorsement for the aircraft and a co-pilot IR CAO 20.18 4.1B (b)
10) 13 hours which includes the hours of 10pm to 6am local time CAO 48.1 1.7 (a)
