Even if they stick to half of what they promise in that package it is still very good. The pledges to keep Essendon and Point Cook open are very positive with the plan to change the point cook airfield to civil operations presumably class D as Moorabbin. This will provide a lot of certainty to operators and users as well as future aviation based investment in the ports.

It will be interesting to see what form of assistance is provided to flying training organisations if they do get in.

The only drawback is the funding seems very light so how much can actually be achieved in the regional areas during the term is debatable.

An aerodrome, from the apron to the threshold, is a public road and should be funded and maintained as such!

Would be good if Ted would remove the legislation that allows for airport owners to be able to charge for use of airspace above their aerodroems.
