ICUS

What's the go now with a number of airlines not allowing the counting of ICUS as command hours?? (Particularly multi-engine command). So is the counting of ICUS essentially useless now?

I don't know why they would count it. ICUS is not command - and you don't get the same experience as you do in command, even if only due to the fact there is nobody there (in a single pilot op) to pick you up on your mistakes, or provide that level of "security" when conditions get tough. Most ICUS I've seen conducted in GA is really dual under another name.

ICUS, conducted correctly, gives you the tools to go and safely, efficiently begin your command experience. It's not a replacement for command time.
