Thanks for CASA register info (had already checked that). Am wondering if any ppruners know where it's based and who is currently operating the aircraft.

Any more suggestions? Struck out phoning the number on the sign in the background of the photo.

Someone must've seen it or flown it on line this year - the operator (rather than the owner who would presumably be aware of the situation) may be interested in information on registration of the aircraft, or possible lack thereof. The company listed on the CASA register has been deregistered by the Australian Securities Commission since Feb 2010 according to company information available for viewing on www.asic.gov.au. This raises the question of registration validity and therefore valid insurance if the aircraft is or has been flown during that period ??????
