GA at YSCB

I've heard that there are now no flying schools at Canberra. Can someone please confirm whether this is true?

Are there any GA operators at all on the field these days?

I can confirm this. Brindabella Flight Training closed in April this year. They continued operating in a limited capacity to finish off a couple of full-time CPL students commitments, and are due to complete this phase of the shut down this month.

You can still hire a couple of aircraft from them that are privately owned, but other than that... The aero club have a handful of planes.

There were 6 schools here 10 years ago. There were at least 3 or 4 when I first started to learn here. I think there is another thread call 'Going Going Gone...." (or similar) that has more details.

Nads.

Thanks Nadsy. It's a very sad state of affairs.
