Inactive Aircraft
What have you all seen parked up and no longer flying in your travels around DG&P.
Not the stuff sitting in a museum but parked up in a shed or left in the paddock? maybe suitable for restoration projects? spare parts?

I hear the owner has abandoned it and run off to the USA.

That RV10 would be eminently suitable for parting out.
IO540 (low time)
GNS530W
GMA audio
Dynon 7 inch x 2
dynon autopilot and servos
garmin 296
The rest scrap metal value.
Back on topic, I know of a Queenair that's probably not going anywhere any time soon. It's flyable but hasn't flown for years.

Thanks for the heads up guys. As from 3am I'm the proud owner of a nice shinny RV10 Canopy which will look great on my dad's home made XC710 ??????
Back to topic...As XXX said Queenair, Aztruck, Gonad, Dove/Heron seem to be the norm in AUS...

There are a few old hulks that have seen better days in Charters Towers..... Also an old 402 in Roma which could do with a paint job, a couple of engines, an interior and tail if I recall correctly.
There is (or was a few years ago) an old Cherokee 6 sitting in someones yard in Kununurra.
Not long ago I also saw a house out in the woop woops which was made from what appeared to be the front 2 thirds of a DC3. If anyone has a spare set of wings and the back third.........
Edit: I just remembered.... heard a whisper that there is at lease one 207 in KU and maybe even a 210 which haven't flown for a couple of years.

I remember when I was younger and naive whilst completing my CPL. My instructor and I taxied past a particular operators fleet. I asked him what they were doing with all those old abandoned aeroplanes once they are no longer flying. He laughed and told me it was xxx's fleet!
I'd say there are a few fleets across the country in the same league

Wasn't the government planning to house boat people in housing made from old C209's?
I've often wondered how the PA-31 bigots here would feel if they were expected to fly all the Queenairs that were around back in the day.

ME!
Ok, obviously a better visual joke...
Aerostar WGK at Bankstown. Had a long history of sitting down not flying
The Beech Starship is sitting in the compound at Caloundra.
BE33 at Toowoomba, been there so long it has taken root!
There was a Spitfire (80% scale modern homebuilt) lying around at Boonah, Qld for ages too, it even featured in the flt sim add on scenery, however it seems to have quietly slipped away of late.

There is a Shorts 360 at Alice and sitting next to it used to be a certain Piper that had a run in with a hill during a bit of bad weather
I wonder what ever happened to the aeroplane and the Pilot the rumour at the time was he had lost his licence after a run in with the CASA and abandoned his private aeroplane. I would love to know more about that one!
There was an aerostar in Northam that saw the ugly side of a C172 with a new Pilot at the helm and it never ceased to amaze me at the amount of perfect condition 182s that were laying around in sheds on stations that had not flown for years, had no MR and no-one could fly them
There used to be a Mooney parked on the side of the road in a paddock in the southern suburbs of Perth. Don't know if that is still there, always wondered about it's history! It was painted bright yellow.
