New Facility 'nearmap'.....

For those who are interested,

Courtesy to Ch7 News for the lead.....
New site 'nearmap' a 'google earth' type service.
Easy to use, and its free.
The clarity is much better than G.E., like, have a look at the Hercs at Richmond for instance....quite easy to see which have had the donks removed.....

Easy to see too, whether YOU have mowed the lawn at YOUR place.....

Simply google nearmap.com and enjoy.......and, you can go back in 'history' of photos, and see 'who was where when'........

ENJOY.....

Just something that happens a lot, is it focuses on the populated areas but not the "outback" etc (Have a look at Toowoomba) from what I see, unfortunate, but the clarity in cities looks better than GE.

Thanks!

Now who can find the Qantaslink 717 that was shown "captured" in the news footage. You will have to state the place AND the time to find it.

Looks like it still has a very long way to go to catch up to Google Earth in terms of coverage away from Australian capital cities. Singapore is just a green blur, and so too is Yangon, Myanmar.

Nice to see that work on the Melbounre International airport gate D1 is finished with an aircraft parked in there.

Not totally sure the resolution is actually better than GE - but they've used lots of sharpening to make it look better.

Just love the ability to look at different times though - for a while they were updating once a month but looks like it's slipped back a bit.

Nearmap

Just like anything in GA, when it started we were told it was going to be huge, we were going to cover the entire of oz three time over- all in a 210! it has been slow to start but maybe the coverage will get there eventually when buyers of the product come online.
