Any DC3s going from here to Oshkosh 2010?
Does anyone know if any DC3s from Australia/New Zealand are going do the big haul across to Oshkosh for the 75th anniversary celebrations?
I'm not expecting any to be going. As one person has already said to me: "There's a lot of very deep water between here and there..."
Still, worth checking

It would cost circa $250,000 to prepare and fly a DC3 from here to Oshkosh and return. Divide that cost by 28 pax - if there are indeed that many cashed-up people here that would pay to sit in the back for 100+ hours or so of droning along at 145 knots at 10,000ft.
Much as I LOVE the DC3, if someone gives me that amount of money for an airfare, I will settle for a bunk bed in 1st class on an A380.
PS: But if someone buys it and fuels it, I will fly it for free...

GG, the only aeroplane I would fly for free is a DC3. All the others on my licence? Well, I may be rough but at least I am expensive....
