Training In Another State
I have been reading a lot of threads asking about hows the training at ____?
Why do people go to another state or New Zealand to fly where they could easily do it in their own state. What are the advantages or reasons some people might do it because I really don't understand! Sounds more costly and tedious.

Quality & cost of training and potential employment afterwards are pretty powerful reasons. If you thought you would save thousands of dollars, or just get more for your money, wouldn't you avail yourself of the opportunity if you could? Unless you live at the parent motel then cost of living occurs no matter where you are so isn't necessarily much of a factor.
In other cases there are, or have been, employment opportunities post training - even if the training was more expensive.

The Civil Aviation Act of 1988 clearly states in sext 26C,

Fine: 2'000'000 Penalty units, or 3 Consecutive Life Sentences.
2) Should a person wish to engage in training, for the purpose of gaining a license issued under this act, in the same state or territory that they currently reside in, an application should be made, in writing, no less than 28 days before the training commences.
Fine: 0.5 Penalty Units and Left Ear Lobe
3) Should a person think, or begin to think, or engage in the process of thinking about thinking to engage in training activities, they should immediately inform CASA and cease to think as soon as practically possible.
Fine: Death by Water Boarding
