Strategic Ops
Now Seeing as this is a rumour network, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on something I heard earlier this week.
Strategic Aviation (A330, 320) The Flight Ops Department. Is it true that the guys and girls who work in Flight Ops roles (Crew Rostering etc) have to wear a pilots uniform (ie white's and blues) complete with slides and gold bars?
This will probably get shot down instantly but the guy I spoke to was CONVINCED that this was the case...

When you offer GA pilot pay....
you get GA pilots. They are probably doing the same thing that SAW did by promising some GA pilot that after a year in ops he can start his jet training. Then they will overwork him at all hours for no money while dangling that endorsment carrot. It has and will be a revolving door job.

j3,
I've travelled on the A330 a number of times to the Middle East (last time was in early 2008)
Not sure if its still the case, but in addition to the Tech Crew (all in white shirts) was another crew member wearing a blue shirt with 2 or 3 bars. After a short converstaion, he informed me he was from Flt Ops and it was a company requirment to wear the uniform.
Must say overall I was very impressed with the Tech and CC. When we arrived back in BNE, the Flight Services Manager made a PA and gave a very warm thanks to all of the ADF personnel on board. We may not have said it to each other at the time, but that simple thanks did mean alot.
