Headset

I'm planning to get a headset, and just wondering which headset is better:
AvComm AC-454
AvComm AC-200
ASA HS-1A

Which one makes better communications?

None of them. Have you not been following the other thread headset types in GA?

http://www.pprune.org/dg-p-general-a...-types-ga.html

Can't go wrong with a pair of DC H10-13.4's When I first started out, I used a pair of altronics C9073's. I put a set of DC gel ear seals on them and thought they were great... until they broke. Cable split apart, which I got fixed, but then the headband fell apart. Have used AVCOMMs on aircraft which I have hired, but they feel the same as tightening a G-clamp on the side of your head!

The lesson is, if your going to invest in a headset, which your going to use often, buy a pair of DC's as a minimum. If you want a spare set for the odd pax, then buy an el-cheapo set.

The DC's have copped an absolute hiding, and are still going, but considering a pair of bose now (thinking of the ear drums).

*cough*Zulu*cough*!
Yep, I'm in love with my Zulu's

But yes, 13.4's are very worth the money from my experiences before my zulu's.

Hey Pyro

I love the idea of Zulus but are they as good as the hype? Some stories around of breakages and poor customer service

I got my DC 13.4 here. They were the cheapest supplier when I was shopping around.
