Scenic Flights Gold Coast

G'Day guys.

Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on some good VFR routes in the Gold Coast area, doing a flyaway trip for some hour building soon and was keen to hear of your thoughts.

thanks

One of my favourites is up the coast along the skyline (coastal transit clearance from CG ATC, make sure you know the ERSA procedure and have the right maps), northbound you normally fly at 500 feet just off the coast which is great as you're lower than Q1 (southbound it's 1000 usually, not bad either!), then up to Moreton Island for some shark & whale spotting, cut inland at Recliffe/Bribie Island, and back south around the Glasshouse Mountains towards BN CBD for some city orbits (clearance from BN CTR).

Also might consider a trip south of the coast to look at Byron lighthouse, coastal at 500 feet, down to broken head and ballina then back up via mt warning...
