From the Age website:

"My understanding is that the pilot has steered the helicopter away from cars and people to land in an empty part of the car park," Ms Winkel said.
Gold! Surely he ALWAYS steers away from cars and people when landing!

I know we rant about the quality of media reporting but you can't deny it does have entertainment value - my favorite is the archer south of Melbourne where the pilot saved the day by detaching the wings prior to impact.

UTR, as amusing as that may sound to you, if it was under auto-rotation, then a job well done, particularly with a failure so close to the landing area. You don't get much time like in fixed wing when the noise stops.

Crash picture I saw, had the chopper on its side with no tail boom. Must have hit real hard.
