QLink @ Roma and the animal that zigged when it shoulda zagged

Tonight I heard the Qlink boys on BN centre extending their ETD out of Roma until further notice due animal strike.

Anyone with info?

Things must be bad if even the animals are going on strike

Hit a rabbit. Rabbit came off very second best. Flight delayed whilst the ground agent removed the runway rissole.

No big deal.

The rest of the delay was when Torres offered to take it home and cook it up!

In flight catering, Rabbit Stew, and a whole new world of service.

I was going to ask, "who was the bunny that had to scrap it up", but Torres covered that already.

Seriously though - would a rabbit be that much of an issue? Perhaps more a question of the crows & wedgies coming in for a free feed.....

Freewheel. From hard experience, never run over a dead animal with either an aircraft or road vehicle. A few years ago I had a new 4WD tyre spiked with a 'roo bone. Even a sliver of bone can penetrate an aircraft tyre side wall.

Peter the handling agent retrieved the bunny remains. Last I heard it was being offered as a meat tray prize at the Maranoa Club!

Did they have to call it an "animation".

Ta Torres, I usually only have to worry about whether I blow it onto a window with my wash.....

Had to swerve 4 times before he got the blighter !!!!!!!!!

If he was a REAL bush pilot he would have had a shot at a bush turkey or a fox or a pig or roo or donkey or a camel........

Unless of course it was a monty python rabbit from the holy grail- nasty little fester.......

An old pal of mine in Zimbabwe had a zebra strike at Bumi Hills resort strip in an Islander. Naturally the Islander was more or less OK but the zebra was past all caring. The Affs turned it into excellent biltong by the time of my next trip there.
