Mineralogy MD-90

Who are Mineralogy and what do they do with the MD-90's out of YBCG?

Mineralogy is a company run/owned by Clive Palmer with Iron Ore interests in WA and particularly the Pilbara. I think they do have other interests in Qld. I think you will find Clive Palmer uses the jet mainly for his own personal transport.

Last i was up that way there were 2 there.

They look all locked up and very secure, obviously not used that much!!

MD-82's actually

They are MD-82's, apparently the last 2 built.

Word is they will be doing lots of flying soon as Professor Palmer owns one of the Gold Coast sporting teams. He is also rumoured to be getting another aircraft too, plus has a snazzy helicopter as well.

If you want a job there you need to be type-rated and come in on a 457 visa. So much for the professor's job creation plan.

one of the jets was sitting in Queenstown, NZ for a few days a week or two ago.

one of the bigger private jets that has come in here, very unimpressive on the climb out though, like it was dragging an anchor into the air, it just didnt want to seem to move.

unfortunatly here we have the opposite problem, we get planes full of aussies every day.

over winter its a aussian invasion.
