Life Insurance for Pilots
Gday,
I'm having some trouble finding a life Insurance Policy that will cover me as a full time pilot ....does anyone have any advice on some good Insurance companies that have setup a reputable death benefit plan for pilots.
Thanks in advance.
PA.

May be worth trying your super fund. I'm with Australian Super and after completing an extra questionnaire have life insurance through them. I'm a PPL working towards CPL and for me the insurance does not cost any extra.

It certainly pays to shop around as there are vast differences in costs.
I have a couple of Life policies:
AMP $130K payout on death. Pure term life policy with no other investment value. $114 per month. I keep reminding myself to cancel this one as it's quite expensive. I was originally quoted approx 1/3 of this price and then they moved the goalposts after the first month.
Westpac Banking Corp $360K payout on death. Also a pure life policy with no other investment value. $136 per month, pretty good value. They accepted my application with full disclosure on flying activities.
Both policies are linked with CPI and the payout value and costs increase proportionately each anniversary.
My broker recently tried to get a better deal with my superannuation supplier, AXA, it came in approx 10% higher than Westpac.
I sleep with one eye open as unfortunately I'm worth more dead than alive.
