FOQA / FDM Programs
Knowing that QANTAS has been running an FOQA/FDM programme for many years now covering most if not all their operations, inc Qantaslink.
Im interested to find out if other operators have, or will soon be implementing FOQA / FDM programmes into thier organisations.
Anyone know of, or are presently involved in setting up / running / participating in thier Company FOQA Programs.
Also interested to discuss what benefits could be made by operators working together on this area, whereby the sharing of de-identified data, trends, and incidents could be of benefit to each other in identifying hazards not just in ones own operations, but by highlighting possible hazards in others.

Or FDAP - Flight Data Analysis Program (CASA NPRM 0803)

Air NZ has also had it for a few years on the A320, B733 and B777. It took a lot of discussion with ALPA over the process and access but a workable solution was found.
There is no way data can be shared with any outside org but general findings might be possible.

Its the one of the best safey tools available. Ideally it should be called "trend monitoring'.
An airline fitted with the equipment can pick up deviations from standard ops procedures and rectify the situation before they become an issue. The idea is that the whole fleet is monitored and if there are for instance rushed approaches somewhere the problem can be rectified. It may be an ATC problem or whatever, it can be addressed.
The beauty of the system is that training can be adjusted to address the problem. Not only that but feedback from the system will tell you whether the fix is effective.
It goes without saying that the pilots or the relevant union have to be heavily involved in the process and it is kept confidential.
It is so good that it should say on your ticket that this airline has it - so fly with us!

Considering that FDAP is mainly an "Airline and RPT issues", is there any reason this thread has been moved to the General Aviation Section.
The proposed amendments to CAO 82.5 will require the following of a Safety Management System
(e) for an operator who operates an aircraft with a maximum take-off weight
exceeding 27 000kg —a flight data analysis program (FDAP) in accordance
with paragraph 2A.3.
