AAAAAH, thats the one I was thinking of Tinny.
watching the F27 getting close to a ground loop would be an eye opening sight for sure. I remember having big eyes the first time I applied brakes in the sea Devon (Dove)..... certainly had English brakes.

Tigers of a different stripe
Sorry Wiz, tinny - but this is a common and oft repeated misconception.
The tandem 2 seat Canadian built Tigers - the DH-82C were a very different beast to the 3/4 seat Thruxton Jackaroo.

he Thruxton Jackaroo was designed as a four-seat cabin general purpose biplane. The first conversion first flew on the 2 March 1957. Eighteen Tiger Moth's were converted by Jackaroo Aircraft Limited between 1957 and 1959
Silly Old Git
Me neither, never seen one them Canuck moths.
Doubt anyone would have bothered with 1941 aeroplanes darnunder, but they would go for the Thruxton post 1957, they bought lots of crap off the Poms in exchange for a slab of frozen lamb
The Auster Agricola springs to mind, erm, ANY Auster...

Hello! Its 1957 and I am looking to buy an aeroplane.
Will I buy one of these fine looking aircraft (1957 Thruxton Jackeroo)
Or one of these (1956 C172)?
Geez, you would really struggle with that decision, wouldn't you!
Dr

...the Tiger's got fully automatic Carby heat. Now that's innovation Don't even get that on a 2009 Piper Archer!
Still ahead of our time those Tigers
