Image Posting on PPRuNe
We are getting far too many images on PPRuNe Dunnunda which exceed the maximum size of 640 x 480 pixels.
Images which are too large distort the thread and slow download for those who may still be using dial up connections.
The maximum image size is 640 x 480 pixels!
Images which exceed that size may be removed until the image is re-sized.
Windows XP and Visa will re-size images, as will Irfanview.
HERE is a link to posting images on PPRuNe.
Photobucket is useful free site for personal image hosting.
Many images including !!!!!!!!!!!!!! are subject to copyright laws. PPRuNe will not be liable if you post copyright images on PPRuNe.
Ask here or PM me if you have any questions.

XP will definitely re-size images; right click on the image in Windows Explorer, "Resize Pictures" and select "Small", "Medium", "Large" or "Hand Held".
"Small" (640 x 480) is the preferred size for PPRuNe.
I am advised Visa will do the same thing.
My personal preference is XP, Office 2007, Mozilla Firefox browser and Irfanview for image management.

G'day tw ol' mate. If I understand you correctly, if I'm not actually posting an image on PPRuNe, I can still post a URL for a photo from my FotoTime space. This won't affect PPRuNe bandwidth because folks have the option as to whether or not to follow the link. That's probably the best option for blokes like me who are too lazy to resize their photos.

Oz.
No problems on image size if you only post a link.
But any image posted must be 640 x 480 as I don't have a wide screen computer!
(Band width is not an issue, anything wider than 640 distorts the thread posting width. Or something like that?)

That C185 was originally Talair C185 VH-GKE and became P2-SE?.
It was restored back in Australia as VH-GKE. I think it is now in New Zealand.
P2-GKE would have been one of the Talair C402's.
If you can keep secrets, here is one for you........

Yes John. Mad Magazine Founded 1952, peak circulation of two million in 1974, still being produced but circulation is back to 265,000.
It was always a bit too sophisticated and academic for me. I settled for Beano and Dandy comics and Superman/Clark Kent with Leonard Teale on the wireless box!
I guess you remember those........

There is a limit to posting pictures. I think it is about 120 Kb.
Not sure of the limits for posting attachments but it is much larger.
Email the image you can post to [email protected] and I'll check why it won't post, or post it into one of your posts if you advise the thread name and post #.
