Call the Qantas main switchboard and ask for the number to J* head office,it is an unlisted number, and call them up and ask to be put through to HR. I have done this before it beats trying to find the number any other way.

I take it others got the email today about the Auckland base and the NZ contract.

Does anyone know what the NZ contract will be??

My guess is not much $$ and lots of $$$ upfront for the type rating.

At today's figures (AUD$1=1.25 NZD) That's $60k AUD for FO's and $96k for Capitanos!

That pay is WORSE than Pac Blue for goodness sake...

Surely they are not still not after the application payment...and I wonder how much are they going to charge NZ'ers for a few sim rides like they have done with AU crews......

Anyone else notice that Christchurch had been removed from the list of bases on the application form??

Whilst I in no way endorse those numbers, its not apples with apples to compare exchange rates.

A NZ$ will buy you roughly the same in NZ as a AUD$ in AU. Give or take.

After all, how far do you think you'd to get if you tried to get paid the equivalent in Pounds Sterling? Nice if you can get it, but unlikely.

The only time that it counts is when you earn in one currency and send money home to the other.

Having said all that, if those numbers are true then it is pretty sh1t.

mmm, type rating cost spread out over 33months, plus 10% fee, I reckon rating is 33,000.

IF those numbers are correct, Pac Blue needn't worry about Jetstar emptying their AKL base.

Shame; pilot poaching is good for pilots.

Part of an email circulated to those with their hat in the ring:

..... 4. Full details of Terms and Conditions will be communicated to pilots during the recruitment process....
I daresay speculating anything else in the way of $$$ at the moment would be just heresay.

Regards,

OpsN.
