The hardest part about getting a Shrike endo is learning to taxi the beasts - flying them is a doddle!

I don't think your main concern will be taxing the thing, if for your endorsement you'll be required to do this YouTube - Bob Hoover

Once you get used to taxiing them, it is a beautiful thing.

Ahhh, & dear old ACZ! Used to love listening to her heading off on yet another mail run. On a calm day or with a bit of wind coming from the right direction you could still hear her when she was halfway to Moolawatana!

Don't listen to them, taxiing is fine.

The only bad thing about a Shrike is getting out and having to fly an Islander.

Actually yeah. The worse thing about a Shrike is convincing the grumpy refueler that yes I DO want full mains, and yes you will have to spend 5 minutes dribbling the last 5 gallons in. That and draining Jet A1 out of the aux tanks, that's a pain in the arse too.

My clue would be:

Because they have no access to a Shrike (or Aero Commander)!

Many, Many, happy, good memories flying AC500 & AC500S. Kimberley coastal surveillance, including a few hours on OLD ACZ.

Bob Harris Flying School Innisfail might be able to help, although getting their hands on one will be a problem. I'm a bit surprised that Barrier won't do it I thought they had a Shrike online they could use?

Not many options in FNQ for training full stop let alone endos but good luck mate you won't know if you don't ask!

DEFINITELY a Pilots aircraft!
everything in a logical place.... like ILS/VOR up near the windscreen... not bottom left corner of panel as an afterthought!
One fuel tank.... so NO imbalance - EVER.
Large cabin - probably the largest in a piston twin.
Built like a brick sh!thouse - felt REALLY REALLy safe flying it.

Thank you Ted Smith!!!
