cpl checkride

it has been about a months since I came to australia to convert my FAA CPL.
I am so frustrated. Why the examiner here is so busy and not many?

I went to flight school and did few flight to prepare for checkride.
School told me I need to have flight rule and air law test.
So I did it. I have my Certificate of Verification as well..
I thought this CV will cover the medical as well.

after a long wait they told me examiner is available on 29th Dec.
I double checked with my instructor saying I have FAA and JAA medical but not Australian...he looked at my medical and said that will be fine.

a day before checkride when examiner called me I asked him if my foreign medicals are acceptable...and the answer was no....OMG!!!!
so my checkride was canceled and now I dont even know when I cant get a spot even...School told me it is my responsibility. yeah I know...it is...but I am little upset about my instructor giving me a wrong information...

I got my medical but dont know when I am gonna get my checkride.
I feel like school is trying to avoid me..even..
i went to school everyday to ask about checkride.
they said they are waiting for answer from examiner....
this morning they called me and said they dont know at all when the examiner is available and dont call us(or dont come). we will let you know...

I am on my tourist visa it will ends in Feb. and I have booked for ATPL theory school and also paid. school is starting next monday but now I dont know when I am gonna be able to go for checkride and it means I cant even sit for the ATPL exams..till I get my checkride done.

Now what...
Why it is so difficult to get an exminer!! why why!!

There are lots of ATO's around, you don't just have to use the one your flying school uses. Search here.

The last two weeks of December are always going to be the hardest time of year to find an ATO or get anything done in the education sector of this country.

True, though it doesn't stop you from studying for the ATPL subjects. Do the course and organise for the checkflight at the same time. It sounds like you've been stuffed around by the flying school you chose, however there are others around you can go to that will treat you better.

Good luck

thank you

thank you for your information about ATO.

I found out that the ATO that school is taking is not even registered my area but other area.
anyway....
I went to that website and sent emails to those ATOs in my area.
after 30minutes i got call from one of ATO saying he might be available this friday.

well I was very suprised. I was waiting for 2weeks without answer.
School told me they even tried other ATO but no one is available.
I guess they have their own list.
i dont really know how it works in australia since it has been only a month since I came to Australia.

I hope there is no problem doing my checkflight with other ATO than their(?) ATO.

now wish me a luck!

'Sandra9' welcome to Australia, at times not always welcoming.
Am sure there will be some flying schools who are helpful, the one you came across is not a good example I hope.

Good Luck
