Nobody really cares except for those poor souls who got Chritmas off last year and this year ended up being in flight for both Christmas and New Year and therefore miss both.

the company had no reason to preallocate trips this year for xmas/new years trips.
lots of extra crew on reserve to cover sick leave without the administrative cost to preallocate
