Qantas VR Horror

Did anyone hear about how a particular CSM at domestic was given the VR marching order next week? This CSM was lead to believe, according to paperwork, that she would be leaving in April 2009....now she has been given one week's notice to be terminated next Friday!!!!!!!! She has 32 years seniority. I really feel for people in this situation...given the current climate of superannuation etc.

Does anyone else have any horror VR stories to share??????

Horror?

Getting a little emotive arent we?
The CSM is getting a six month early mark.....so what?
If you havent got your financial act together after 32 yrs leaving 6 months early is the least of your problems

the paperwork signed by those that wanted VR stated clearly that the company would determine the departure date

there was some speculation that some might be leaving early next year but that i clearly not happening now.

Managerial prerogative guess ;(

If I was retiring, I'd like to have planned my last few trips, say goodbye to old friends, see cities for the last time... tidy up the end of the 32 year working career. To turn around and just change someones redundancy and retirement plans to give them ONE WEEK is just unnecessary and pathetic, especially when they know that they are now understaffed in the CSM ranks while they wait for the cheaper labour to be hired and promoted. Just ask the schedulers what the next roster is looking like.

Unhappy sick leave

One of the reasons QF "management" may do this is to, as in my case 5 years ago, prevent staff using up sick leave.

I left 10 months in the bank !!
