Level-D 767 Flight Simulator - Any good for ATPL's?
Hi All
Has anyone used this software Level-D 767-300 Flight Simulator by Flight1 software to help them with their ATPL Systems exam.
I saw it advertised, and just wondering if it will help with all the FMS stuff, or would it be just overkill!
Cheers

Great aircraft & yeah I would say it'd be helpful for FMS Ops, if you go over the excellent manual. http://www.leveldsim.com/files/LVLD7...al_for_FSX.zip
Level D B767-300.
G'day there!
I haven't started studying for ATPL Systems just yet, but I do have this Sim on my Computer.
The package is sensational, and would go a LOOOOONG way over the knowledge required to pass the Exam as far as I know.
All Autoflight features and Modes are designed to be operated as per the logic of the real Aircraft, as there was considerable input in the design stage by real- world '76 Drivers. It's extremely useful in that it's possible to fly a real published SID/ STAR (you can create any published procudure and save it), and simulate things such as ATC speed restrictions/ Altitude constraints/ Traffic avoidance in the Terminal Area- and getting to use all of the various Autoflight Modes to fly the procedure. The Autothrottle is also there.
There is also the ability to create and save Company Routes.
The detail goes all the way down to separate Modelling for GE, RR and P&W powered Aircraft, and presenting the EADI in Airline specific format (i.e: Speed Tape V's Fast/ Slow Pointer and Flight Director format).
Other systems such as Hydraulics/ Pneumatics/ Pressurisation etc are also accurately simulated.
If you're going to use it in conjunction with Flight Sim X, I would definitely recommend 4GB Ram and a dedicated 512MB Video Card.
Definitely recommended!
Cheers,
Gearup.

Gday,
I was very familiar with the LDS 767 before studying for Systems, and I have to say it was a HUGE help. Not just the FMC functions but everything from autoflight, TCAS, you name it it LDS 767 helped out a lot.

Level-D 171 for ATPL Systems
Oneday_soon
Yes I used it as you indicated.
It was useful not only for the systems (A/C, power, gen, hydraulics) but also for the FMC, autopilot, EADI, EICAS etc etc.
in short - yes I am glad i spent the $ on it, made the diagrams and explanations in the books make much more sense.
Cheers,
RR.
