Expensive Domestic Flights

Starting to make plans for a trip back to oz next year, looked up some fares on United.com and it seems I can get from Nashville to Melbourne for around $1500.00 return.
Making Adelaide the final destination instead of Melbourne bumps it up to over $20,000.00!!!!!!

Hope that price comes down before then.

$18,500 Melbourne - Adelaide return? Chartering a BBJ?

A quick check of the Qantas web site indicates return air fares available from $157. Try Jet* or Virgin for cheaper deals.

You missed your chance.....and who is going to ban you?

In true PF fashion you could have told him to save the cash and stay out!

USD$1500 return is damn cheap, given oil has been higher and ex Nashville, thats incredible.

Have UNITED not realised that the competition they were getting is a little mothballed for a while.......

Have a good trip!

I recently bought tickets from Australia to Houston via LAX, return - Aus$2,950 QF/CO.

$1,500 Nashville - Melbourne return is very reasonable.

If he's talking $2,000 (USD or AUD) Nashville to Adelaide return, he's done well.

That's not Nashville to Melb FL is it?

This week I booked a ticket from Sydney to Melbourne with QF for November, $105 when I first checked, $95 two days later when I booked it!

Using Star Alliance (Air NZ in this case) Freq Flyer pts my wife and I found it was the same number of pts to fly PH - PAD or PH - AKL (or SYD - MEL for that matter) as it's all in one zone. We took the holiday to Auckland.

The same holds true across the US so if coming from USA (particularly from other than the West Coast) and going anywhere other than MEL, SYD or BNE check out Freq Flyer seats if applicable for best value of points (might even snag something via Singapore).

Melbourne-Adelaide - $75.00

Something like $43.00 Adelaide-Melbourne or something with Tiger

$110? With QF (if that special thing is still going)

All oneway, PP and AUD

You can usually grab a bargin quick flight with Virgin

Havent tried tiger, but they are very cheap.... see what happens there...
