Why you want to make a counter offer?

I would hazard a guess that the salary would be a contract between the individual and the company.

They offered my $205K but I couldn't live on that (not with Perth living expenses) so I told them thanks but no thanks.

For what it's worth...

744 Capts make $300k-$350k, so its going to be a lot more than that...

Qantas Chief Pilot

I was told around the $1 million per annum package, given the responsibility and the size of the company I reckon this would be the correct number.

Are these figures for real?? Mind you there's a huge range mentioned...but are chief pilots' salaries really that high? Sorry to sound incredulous but that's what I am!

With this much money splashed around ,I can't wait for the invites to the going away party that Ms Mannering must obviously put on for all his loyal and loving fellow pilots, it should be a bottler, standing room only I'd hazard a guess.
He is after all such a Caring Understanding Newage Type of guy.

I heard a rumour recently that his superannuation
at retirement was worth well in excess of $5M.

Keg, can you comment.

I've heard a rumour that the Chief Pilot's salary for Qantas is under profit sharing scheme?

Just did a few calculations and turn out that Chief Pilot would earn 0.1xx% of revenue..
